Porcelain denture teeth are attached a little differently than acrylic denture teeth because porcelain does not bond well with the pink denture plastic acrylic. Porcelain denture teeth are held in place by two small metal pins that extrude from the denture base (gums) for each tooth. Usually when a porcelain denture tooth breaks, the two small metal pins that hold the denture tooth in place a sheared off. Porcelain denture teeth are more expensive that acrylic denture teeth, and the dentist who repairs them will replace the broken denture tooth with an acrylic denture tooth.
